So, look: I love Billy Porter. Just… why. I absolutely love them and have my whole life. Also, Ike Turner is credited on the song too, and I guess he was also involved, but screw Ike Turner. Any of them could hold this spot. If you want one of the other ones, get your own column. Nirvana is absolutely one of those bands, and The Ramones before them. And yet for some reason none of them have as many great covers by Black musicians as the Beatles.

The tour promoted her final studio album Twenty Four Seven. Although she stated this numerous times in the past, Turner announced that feat would be her final "show stopping" tour. She stated she would continue to make records and perform at small venues and award shows. During her farewell tour in , Turner broke all records: never had an artist lured so much public; she played 11 times in a sold out Flanders Expo in Ghent good for , people.
Y' know, every now and then I think you might like to hear something from us Nice and easy But there's just one thing You see we never ever do nothing Nice and easy We always do it nice and rough So we're gonna take the beginning of this song And do it easy Then we're gonna do the finish rough This is the way we do "Proud Mary". Left a good job in the city Working for the man every night and day And I never lost one minute of sleeping Worrying 'bout the way things might have been. Big wheel keep on turning Proud mary keep on burning And we're rolling, rolling Rolling on the river The river. Cleaned a lot of plates in memphis Pumped a lot of tane down in new orleans But I never saw the good side of the city Till I hitched a ride on a riverboat queen. Big wheel keep on turning Proud mary keep on burning And we're rolling, rolling Rolling on the river The river, say we rolling Rolling, yeah, rolling on the river The river.
In the years since, "Nutbush City Limits" has been performed by a number of other artists, most notably Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band , and Turner herself has re-recorded several different versions of the song. In Australia, this song is often played at weddings and community events, and people dance the Nutbush. As an unincorporated rural community, Nutbush does not have official city limits; rather, its general boundaries are described by signs reading "Nutbush, Unincorporated" which are posted on the local highway. The song is characterized by inventive guitar sounds, a clavinet , a substantial Moog synthesizer solo by Ike, and a funky brass section. Typical of the period, none of the session musicians who contributed to "Nutbush City Limits" were given specific mention in the song credits. It has been rumored for years that Marc Bolan , frontman for the glam rock band T. Rex , played guitar on the track. But there are two guitars on that track: fuzz rhythm centre pan which could be Bolan , with wah-wah guitar in the right channel, very typical of Afro-American playing like Lewis's.
